I n India around 6 crore people are living with this disorder and many of them do not have any idea that they are diabetic. Frequently referred to as the lifestyle disaster, diabetes demands a nationwide awareness which unfortunately is not adequately seen in India. Thyrocare, having made a revolution in thyroid testing within a few years of its inception, now wishes to shift its focus to diabetes for the next 10 years to curb its growing incidence, to help diabetics know that they are diabetic and counsel known diabetics on effective screening and management through a unique project. By appointing Diabetes Diagnostic Counselors (DDCs), Thyrocare is all set to achieve this task. . |

| WHAT IS DDC? |

Diabetes Diagnostic Counselor, DDC a project conceived by Thyrocare to tackle the menace of the lethal diabetes. Under this project, a DDC is educated, trained and equipped to deliver complete diagnostic solutions to a diabetic patient. He identifies, enrolls and manages diabetic patients in his own town or area. He will explore the full potentials of glucose monitor, marketing materials, promotional materials, and of course the brand name of the company and the products like Hba1c, Microalbuminuria, Lipid profile and sugarscan. . In short, the job of the DDC is to identify, enroll and manage as many diabetic patients as possible in their home town and to be a friend and guide in helping them to make ideal usage of the available diagnostic solutions, cost effectively and in-time

| WHO CAN BE A DDC? |
 |
Any energetic (need not be young), enthusiastic, educated, ambitious, dynamic individual, who can create career for himself can be a DDC. He knows about diabetes because his own exposure as a DDC student or patient or doctor . He should be fluent in local language and he should be communicating with people from all backgrounds. He should have a fairly good knowledge of English (to follow the training course). He should be interested to do field work. He should have a good convincing skill. He should have a service oriented mind towards the society. The minimum qualification required is a DMLT or HSC

| HOW TO BECOME A DDC? |
 |
The enclosed Training Application Form. (medical doctors are exempted from training)
Once evaluated you will informed about the next possible dates of training for DDC
You will be trained for 10 hours in our laboratory in Mumbai on tests, technologies and Diabetes.

| TRAINING |
 |
A 10 hours training programme is essential for a DDC every year.
The subjects include diabetes - its diagnosis (the tests and technologies) and management (monitoring and interpretation),
communication skills (comfort and convenience), preventive healthcare (for healthy and needy), and operations of
Thyrocare (logistics and network). Examinations will be conducted after the training and clearing them will be essential for
getting the Counselor Certificate.
For training the candidate has to make his own arrangements for boarding and lodging.

The focus of DDCs as well as the company will be on SugarScan profile a combination of essential tests for the diabetics which includes and also the following individual tests and profiles
1. Blood glucose (or blood sugar)
2. HbA1c (or glucose memory test)
3. Lipro (or lipid profile)
4. Kidleak (or Microalbuminuria)
